She is my walking buddy. She'll do a lap around the field with me, investigating as she goes, but then running to catch up.
She's not "grumpy" either. She was just running toward me in the sun.
Unfortunately on this walk, she decided to roll in "something" and she really did stink. The kids took care of that and gave her a bath. I really should have gotten a picture of it, because she was not happy and it was hilarious. But, she smelled better!
Someone was bored Sunday, so he talked me into a walk. Plus I was finally able to check out the picture he drew for school and came in 3rd place. They've got the winners pictures hanging in town hall. All I've seen was the picture from the paper of all the winners, so I figured it was about time to see what all the excitement was about. :) And for someone that complains that he can't draw, to come in 3rd place out of the whole 5th grade class is pretty good! As we were heading back home and passing this wall, I made him stand in front of it for a good picture. Every time I think I'm going to get rid of this lens because I don't like it, I take a picture like this. I didn't have to do much to this one, which just kills me. Usually I'm complaining because it's just not sharp enough...and then I take this. Just my luck. :) So now I'm back on the fence on getting rid of it, darn it!
I miss having lots of flowers growing around
the house. It's just not something I could get into
this year. But I have enjoyed going on walks with
the kids and we always walk by a house that has
lots of them growing along their fence line. So I
went and took a bunch the other day. So pretty!
I really need to go back later in the afternoon,
because these were taken right at midday and the sun
is so much brighter and the shadows more harsh.
These last 2 were was taken when it was a hair too
dark. There's more "noise" and the image is "softer"...
and I know to most people they look fine, but I'm just
too darn picky! ;)
The one thing I do enjoy about living in small town
America is our late night walks. Usually it's just the
2 of us, but last night the boys and I walked. They are
a couple of goofballs!
Strawberry moonpies...bleh...these have been in the
window for the last week (probably a week and a half since
the festival) and I finally remembered to bring my camera
to document the (lack of) anything growing on them! Gotta
love preservatives! ;)
I forgot to change my white balance on the first
picture, so that's why there's such a color difference.
But I think I like it better than this one. (They were
also closer to the green/blue lights so there's some
added reflection as well. It's not easy shooting in low
light without using your flash!
