This post saddens me. Instead of beautiful pictures of my cute kid, in sweet sunlight, I write about bullies. School's out for the horse show and I guess that gives kids a right to do what they want. Wrong. I happened to be doing dishes and straightening up when I noticed Hunter coming home on his bike from a friends. I also noticed a black truck in the middle of the intersection, which happens a lot because the street signs have been stolen...again. I saw Hunter slow to a stop and then the truck peel out and Hunter came into the yard. Not thinking anything of it, I went back to cleaning. He came in seconds later, crying. He said the boys called him names, (they were bad) and peeled out. My heart aches for him...for what he heard, and probably doesn't even know what it means. I am sad that he witnessed this anywhere, much less this small town. Unfortunately for these punks, it's IS a small town, they WERE driving a recognizable truck (black low rider with shiny/chrome rims), and one of the little darlings has an unusual name. D'OH! So, come on back boys, let's have a talk!
Never pass up an opportunity to photograph some sweet evening sunlight!
Sickness has taken hold, but I'm finally coming back to life. The weather was lovely yesterday, so I took the dog on a walk to get some fresh air...she apparently had more fun than I did! I'm glad I had my phone on me, because this was priceless! I finally upgraded my cellphone since my last one was a piece of #*%*#&% and I was rather impressed with the picture quality...video was a little shaky, but you can't have everything. ;)
Someone needed to be hosed off!
She keeps looking at me like she EXPECTS me to come help her! THAT wasn't happening! :)
I made it! I finished my 2nd challenge of the year...and it was tough. Only because it was a yucky, nasty week and we haven't been able to get outside. Plus I've been working on taxes, as my appointment is Monday! But the sun finally made an appearance late yesterday and I bribed a kid! :) Although after I made fun of them before they left for school, I'm surprise he didn't hold a grudge! :p (Every county around us was shut down yesterday...punk #1 sits down to watch for the closing map on the news...that I had already seen ;) ...and when the map shows us and only 1 other county going to school, he says "really"??...it was the highlight of my day! I even waved from the window as they got on the bus. (It wasn't appreciated, but I was ok with that!) But he cooperated and I completed my mission! :)
I miss having lots of flowers growing around
the house. It's just not something I could get into
this year. But I have enjoyed going on walks with
the kids and we always walk by a house that has
lots of them growing along their fence line. So I
went and took a bunch the other day. So pretty!
I really need to go back later in the afternoon,
because these were taken right at midday and the sun
is so much brighter and the shadows more harsh.
These last 2 were was taken when it was a hair too
dark. There's more "noise" and the image is "softer"...
and I know to most people they look fine, but I'm just
too darn picky! ;)
