Happy 2015!

I really, really, slacked off last year. My resolution this year is not to let time get away from me and to post AT LEAST once a week. It should be more than that, but ya gotta start somewhere! I'm pretty sure if I look at my stats from last year and the previous years, I will have posted almost half as much as previous years. That's sad. So, my goal will be once a week and if I'm lucky or ambitious, it'll be more!

New Years Eve

I will probably never hear the end of it about forcing "the hubs" to go to a New Year's eve concert. We got a group of adults together and several youth to go the the (M)Pact concert in Nashville. The first 4 hours were awesome. The last hour, we decided, was just not for us.

These kids were the main reason we went...other than the $20 ticket price!

Let me tell you about how we have come full circle! Original post 3 years ago we went to a little known concert one weekend. It was full of fun and games and a free hot dog/burger dinner. After dinner there was a message and then a band played. They were good...really good. So good in fact that my youngest (at age 9) wanted their autograph. It might have been the start of our spiritual journey, only we didn't know it. That band? Sidewalk Prophets.

And they were just as good 3 years later...and yes, he asked for their autograph again. Some day little man, some day!

This guy was awesome. I'm not sure of his name, but he was an illusionist...a fancy name for "magician". Ha. But he was awesome. I'm sure if I researched it, I would find out how he did this, but it would kill the whole trick. I'd rather just wonder!

Matthew West. Enough said. Awesome, amazing, priceless. We are all still singing "I am a Child of the One True King!" His testimony brought tears. Worth.every.penny.

Happy New Year...2+ weeks late!

Saturday, December 8, 2012

Every day I thank God for these beautiful children. They continue to amaze me, shock me and usually make me laugh. They're not afraid to volunteer when something needs to be done...even if it means getting up at 4:00 a.m., after a late night band competition, to help cook breakfast at the church. They make me proud.

This one asked me if I had made my New Year's resolution yet? What?! Seriously? I'm still trying to complete THIS YEARS resolution! Geez! Plus I still have another 3 1/2 weeks! Curious now, I asked him if he had one. Of course he said yes. (This ought to be good.) He says "I'm going to work and earn $5 each month and donate it." WHAT?! Oh my, sometimes they do render me speechless! Is he really only 12?!

Happy New Year!

I finally found a few minutes to take some holiday pictures before putting the Christmas decorations away for the year. It is "supposed" to be bad luck to not have them down by New Years...I'm not tempting fate...everything is down and put away! :)

Cocoa anyone? It's way too warm, so the picture will have to do.

I can't help but hope that 2012 is a better year than 2011. More downs that ups, but we take one day at a time and it has made us stronger.

Our 1st Christmas ornament from many years ago...together, anything is possible!

A year later we added this one...

And as long as we have this...ALL things are possible. Wishing everyone a safe, happy, healthy and PROSPEROUS New Year!
