Fall 2013

Fall is quickly leaving us. We've had amazingly beautiful colors and I will be sad to see it go.

Someday I hope to be lucky enough to have a driveway like this one! So beautiful any time of the year, but more so in the fall!

I just love the barn!

Way in the distance, you can see the deer crossing sign...perfectly placed!

Over the river...

The guys went fishing over the weekend and caught a bunch of fish. They came home so excited about going again on Sunday. Unfortunately they were rained out, but planned on going Monday after school. More rain Monday, but it cleared a enough to head back out after school. As we got closer to the "honey hole", I knew we were in for a lack luster fishing day. I could tell the streams were running high from the rain runoff and turning down the farm road, there was a "road closed" sign. I wasn't worried about the bridge (or cement pad) that crossed the river, because we weren't crossing, but if it was closed, then the river was also high and fishing was going to stink. I was right.

The spillway was overflowing big time! And lots of foam!

Even weeds can be pretty!

This just looks like winter! The top of the spillway and all the white is the foam floating downstream.

Happy Birthday...

...to the sweetest little boy I know. May you always want my help, always give me hugs and always be a wise guy! Our conversation yesterday: Hunter, what do you want for your birthday dinner? For dinner I want ice cream and dessert, I want Pizza Hut...Oh and don't forget to get me my sweatshirt. Me: Do you have another $20? (He wants an Under Armour sweatshirt and only has $20...and has already been given his birthday present.) He says "No, just use Maison's money!"

Detour

On our way home from The Preachers Treehouse I knew we'd be driving right by the turnoff for Rock Island State Park...and with the leaves starting to turn, I wanted to go back. It was a beautiful way to end our day!

DSC_0103

Our first stop was actually a lookout halfway between the treehouse and Rock Island. Perfect.

Goodbye growing season

Not that much is still growing, but it did come to an
abrupt halt early Sunday morning with the arrival of a
hard frost. It sure was pretty.

Broken

Hunter broke his front tooth last night. Oh the joys of parenthood!
Remembering a full/happy smile! I think the collage turned out pretty
good. Haven't decided which picture will go on the Christmas card yet,
but I have some good ones to choose from!

Leaves

The joy of jumping into leaves as a child...

DSC_0027

DSC_0028

Took some really nice fall pictures of the kids...
it's late...I'll post them tomorrow. But I couldn't
resist these 2...they really made me laugh!

Now, go outside and jump in some leaves! It'll make
you feel like a kid again! (We had to "borrow" a yard
that had leaves too!)
