Tiny Footprints l Jacob and Judah

A few weeks ago I photographed my first set of twins for The Tiny Footprints Project. These sweet boys were almost ready to go home and all they were concerned about was sleeping, which was awesome, because that meant they were growing! Well, I like to think that! :) Mom and dad were ready to get them home too!

She had just bought this preemie outfit and they were already busting out of it!

I'm sure mom and dad will be able to tell them apart, but they were pretty darn identical to me!

One of my favorites from the goofy photoshoot.

There is a little redded boy that we've nicknamed "Firecracker"...he wears most of us out within an hour. He's like the little energizer bunny. The first time I actually met him, his daddy was walking him into church and I noticed he was holding his hand rather tightly. He said to him "if I let your hand go, will you run?" I will never forget his answer..."yes"...a ball of energy, but completely honest in his answer. I laughed and laughed and laughed.

I took this a few weeks ago at a football game. He stood still for a microsecond and gave me a precious smile. He still wears me out though! ;)

Black and white

I love a good black and white. I like to study them and see if I can duplicate the settings when I see a good one. (It never comes out the same though...) But that's because every picture is different. Different lighting, different settings, etc. And I prefer to do a black and white on a single subject vs 2 of them. It's more dramatic when it's just a single subject. But I was playing around and thought I'd share a few examples.

This is my favorite. I think because of the lightness.

A little darker and a little different color.

This one is definitely not my favorite...but...there's something about it that I like. It seems to have a 40-50's type style. Again, if it was just a picture of Maison, sorta smiling, it would be more dramatic. Sometimes it's tough to decide.

Little girls

I was able to spend a few hours with this one last week. It sure made my crappy week much better! She's been sick and yet you would never know it!

She's definitely a pistol and always on the go!

Sweet and Sassy

This sweet little girl is just over 9 months...where has it gone? She's sweet, sassy, opinionated and stubborn...and she's got everyone wrapped around her little finger! Now that's talent! :)

They grow too fast

High school...already. It makes me want to cry, because I know the next 4 years are going to fly by! I hope he enjoys them.

Middle school...already. It makes me want to cry harder...where oh where did the last 12 years go? Appreciate them when they are young, because before you know it...they're gone. ;(

A tale of color

I love this picture of Maddy that I snapped while we were hanging out at the river yesterday. I just wish I could decide if I like it better in color or black & white.

Roll your mouse over for the color/bw versions.

I have another one of her looking right at me that's great also, but I'm still editing the rest of the river pictures. Maybe I'll get them finished tomorrow. (One can hope! ;)

Ryan-9 mo, part 3

I found 2 more and finally had to tell myself to "step away from the computer" more edits! :) His poor momma's not going to be able to decide on what to get! Although that IS good for me! ;)

Black & White

I am a sucker for a good black & white picture. I
am constantly trying new versions to see which one I
like better. I also like different b&w's for different
things. Buildings and landscapes get different versions
than a portrait would get. I (think) I've found my new
favorite portrait b&w...with 2 options/versions. But
give me time, I'm sure it'll change. :)

I really can't pick a favorite, I love them both!

Just a few

I snapped a couple the other night before the kids
left for church. I downloaded a new photoshop action
(because I'm not smart enough to make my own ;) and
just love how it worked on this picture.

I love this one as a b&w. It gets rid of the
distracting background.

Spring storms

I'm not a fan of spring storms...well, I do love a
good storm...just not a "severe" storm. (Not sure how
many people actually do though.) This one kind of
snuck up on us, as I had not had the tv on all
day and caught a blip on the news about dinnertime.
We decided we had about an hour and wanted to gas
up the car, so we ran into town...and sort of ran
right into it. D'OH! It ended up being a quick storm
with little punch thank goodness.

Storm's chasing us!

Too late, storm's here!

The trash bin...

I was cleaning up some of my picture folders and deleting
until my heart was content. (It's not like I can keep all
my pictures...good or bad...they fill up a hard drive pretty
quickly.) But as I was going to delete a really, really
bad picture, something caught my eye and told
me to start playing around with it. If it still didn't
make me happy, the trash bin was waiting...
and I'm N.O.T afraid to use it!
I thought about posting the bad picture, but then you
wouldn't think that all the pictures I take are magnificant!
VERY few pictures that come straight out of the camera
(anyone's camera) DON'T need a little "tweaking".
And most just require a simple contrast. (Or at least mine do.)
I don't like too much "extra"...I want them to look almost like
what I saw when I took them. This one was different.
 Big time.
And it's a Keeper, with a capital K!

See what I mean?!

Kinsey...part 2

Took some more pictures of Kinsey last week and
again yesterday down at the covered bridge. All I
can say is w.o.w...and yesterday she went from
cute to fussy pretty quick, so I was really excited
at how well the ones I got turned out.

Rock on little chickie!

From yesterday...

Can YOU pick a favorite???
