Spring 2014 style

I love spring. I love watching the trees come alive with buds popping out and flowers magically appearing. Every year it's a little different. And after the winter most of us had this year, spring was a welcome relief! I love watching each variety of tree produce it's own special flower, but I have my 2 favorites. The redbud tree is probably my favorite with the dogwood right behind it. Their flowers are lovely and I love watching the bees do their job with each.

They are always working!

Each season of blooms must end, but life continues forward.

Winter returns

Winter has finally returned...hopefully it's short lived and we're back into the 60's in a few days. Unfortunately I don't think these early spring buds are going to survive the freezing temps.

Kids & cameras

Hunter (and Maison) wanted to take some pictures with
me on Satuday, so I let them use my old camera and snap
away. The delete button is AWESOME...but they did get
a few good pictures.

He was so cute that I had to get one of him.

Not bad for a couple of punks! ;)

My tree has bloomed...almost overnight it seems. I
had noticed the blossoms starting to pop, but wow, today
the whole tree was a-buzz with blooms! There may not
have been thousands, but there were certainly hundreds
of bees hanging out today. I just hope Mother Nature
doesn't play a nasty trick on us and snap all the
pretty blossoms!

This may be the first print that I have done on
canvas to put on the wall...eventually!

Sitting outside...

before it warms up for the day, enjoying my coffee, when
I decide to go get my camera. Not really sure what I'm
taking pictures of, as I've really gotten all the hummingbird
pictures...AND the one I've, what else?! Here's
a few of the "what else"...

Have already gotten a good/better one of these,
but another can't hurt. This one blends
in with the background too much. In my opinion!

I have been trying to get one of these guys for
a while now. They are almost harder to photograph
than a hummingbird. Very hard to get a crisp focus.

A pretty moth

Another hummer...not as good as my other one though.

The cat...that jumped up to grab said hummer...that
scared the bejeezes out me! (He did miss and I sent
him on his merry way!) Well, sorta...he came and
slept under my feet for a while!

The trees are finally starting to bloom...but it's supposed to turn cold tomorrow and I heard a chance of snow flurries Monday morning. So since someone didn't want to go hiking today, I went in search of something to shoot. Didn't have to go far as the tree outside our bedroom is blooming and the bees have taken over.

Tried the macro setting on my 70-300mm lens...small crop and it's a pretty good photo.
