It works for both...the temptation was just too great, he had to jump. And he's so expressive and comical when he jumps, that you can't help but laugh. I love the muted editing because when taken in full sun, sometimes the harsh shadows can overpower a photo. I love this one.
Maybe I will get caught up again this week...stranger things have happened! :) I went to the zoo with friends last week (still haven't gotten close to starting to edit those), but I remembered taking this one on our way out of the zoo and decided to go ahead and edit it. And lucky for me, it fit my "Quiet" week perfectly...because this was the first time she was actually quiet...poor thing was just tuckered out. I do miss having little ones to take to the zoo. They just grow so darn fast! :(
Behind again...what else is new?! But motherhood to me means spending time with your kids, doing what they like to do. This was the first one of the set that I took when we spent the afternoon together. Somehow I missed it...not sure how, as those eyes just reach out and grab you!
I had my settings off and as much as I liked this picture, there was just too much noise. So after editing it the way I wanted, I added a couple layers of texture and it looks better. I know I'm too picky...it's a bad habit! ;) (I'm also still trying to catch up from last week...AND I had another (fun) job Saturday night, so I've still got tons of photos to go through from that. Busy = not a bad thing! :)
Someone was bored Sunday, so he talked me into a walk. Plus I was finally able to check out the picture he drew for school and came in 3rd place. They've got the winners pictures hanging in town hall. All I've seen was the picture from the paper of all the winners, so I figured it was about time to see what all the excitement was about. :) And for someone that complains that he can't draw, to come in 3rd place out of the whole 5th grade class is pretty good! As we were heading back home and passing this wall, I made him stand in front of it for a good picture. Every time I think I'm going to get rid of this lens because I don't like it, I take a picture like this. I didn't have to do much to this one, which just kills me. Usually I'm complaining because it's just not sharp enough...and then I take this. Just my luck. :) So now I'm back on the fence on getting rid of it, darn it!
This was a pretty emotional picture to take...she is on the mend and we have taken the bandages off to hopefully help it heal. She's still limping around and we won't let her run, but her licking it should speed up the healing...I hope. :)
I am caught up on my weeks! Whoo Hoo! I had been thinking about doing this shot for a while and have seen some others with dice, so I might have to do another one with the guys play a game of farkle. But I have the main one done, so I'm happy!
The "trust" factor was pretty high that the kid would catch the ball while I was laying right under it. He came close a couple of times!
Sickness has struck again and I'm a day late...but...I am closer to catching up! I was struggling with "pretty ugly" and was going to go with some trash in the ditch that I saw, but the light was so pretty, I decided to go another way. So my pretty ugly is the bare, boring winter trees that are missing their leaves in the pretty setting sunlight. I can also throw in that my "pretty" boy has an "ugly" case of strep. :( And after the nurse said "no school tomorrow because you've got to be on the antibiotic's for 24hrs", he "perked" right up. Although the look of horror might have crossed my face. ;) At least he's on the mend and will be back to just being "pretty" soon enough.
I'm still playing catch up on my weeks, but hopefully I'll get this weeks picture done on time...I can hope at least. I think this one qualifies as "chaos" as he was wearing my pink jacket, his Packer's hat and black gloves. The conversation went something like this...
11 yr old: Is that a North Face jacket? (My name brand kid)
Me: No, it's from Kohls.
11yr old: it looks like a North Face jacket.
Me: It's not, but it's really warm...you want to wear it?
11 yr old: Heck yea!
Me: It's pink, are you sure?
11yr old: I don't care, it's fuzzy and warm.
Me: Ok...so glad my kids are not afraid to go with the flow. :)
